Services to citizens

Services to its citizens remain the top priority of the Town of Mascouche.

Among the multitude of undertakings overseen at the municipal level, some definitely impact the citizenry more directly than others. Core services are the backbone of our municipal structure and essential to the solid growth of our local population.

Be it fire prevention, public safety, garbage collection, urban planning, maintaining our streets or the water supply, the town is there to provide information and services aimed at optimizing public policy and municipal operations.

Mascouche for people,
     Mascouche for nature,
          Mascouche for safety,
               Mascouche for service,
                    Mascouche for leisure...
                         Mascouche, for the future!

THE MAYOR

Proud of the Mascouche motto.Cedo Nulli, "I Yield to No One" for it very fittingly represents the Mascouche spirit, proud of the town's remarkable ascent over the past few years, proud of the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of its citizens, volunteers, business community, promoters and public servants in transforming the municipality at every level, the Mayor of Mascouche, a man in tune with the citizenry, constantly strives for continued improvement in our local quality of life.

Richard Marcotte was first elected mayor in 1991. He was subsequently returned to office for two consecutive terms, once in 1995 and then in 1999 with his entire team. In November 2003, he won the mayoralty by acclamation then in 2005, only two years later, Mayor Marcotte was re-elected along with the majority of his team.

Mascouche's motto CEDO NULLI translates to "I YIELD TO NO ONE", pertaining to the eagle pictured on the municipal coat of arms, for it is a proud and noble bird which, through its mighty prowess, yields to no other.

GARAGE SALES

"Community-Wide" Garage Sales

A few years ago, Mascouche launched its "Community-Wide" garage sale initiative. The idea has certainly caught on.big time! It's a great way to clear out those things you don't use anymore and give others the opportunity to find a good deal. all at the very same time ! The event is held two weekends a year (May & September) to optimize shopper traffic throughout all sectors of Mascouche.

Registration is free and permits registered residents to be included on a list distributed to participating service stations and convenience stores. To benefit from this service, just register at the Town Hall a few weeks prior to the sale.

You can also participate in the "Mega-Sale" held at the community centre, indoors or outdoors (weather permitting). The "Mega-Sale" is organized by a non-profit association. A small registration fee is required to reserve your table for the day.

Persons wishing to hold garage sales, excluding the two "Community-Wide" weekend events, shall be required to pay any and all fees and shall not benefit from the free publicity offered by the municipality. In addition, it is illegal to post personal signage on streets.

Visitors attending garage sales must ensure that they in no way obstruct public roadways. To make sure your purchases are safe, you can contact Health Canada with regards to the Hazardous Products Act.
